The Beltway BBQ Showdown is back in Prince George’s. The annual contest, which is on its 14th edition, highlights the art and joy of barbequing. You’re bound to get the best of the best at this nationally recognized event. The contest has been sanctioned as a Master’s Series Level Event by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Competitors will be working to earn their spot at the next iteration of the festival in Kansas City.
Barbeque experts will compete in four categories: brisket, pork ribs, chicken, and pork. Prizes are given to those placing first through tenth in each category, and those entered in all four categories are eligible to earn the titles of Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion. If you feel up to the task, you can complete an application to compete.
Attendees can watch this competitive show and enjoy the extra events. While there, you can taste BBQ from the vendors who are not competing, enjoy live entertainment, watch cooking demonstrations, see a car, truck, and bike show, and play at the children’s activity area. You’ll also be able to browse a goods and crafts marketplace.
Kyle On The Mic will host the event, while Future Band DC, New Impressionz, and Black Alley will perform during the competition. You can also dance your way through an Ultimate Line Dance Party hosted by an instructor from Style & Rhythm Line Dancing.
